If you spend money on gorgeous, high-end hair extensions, then of course you want them to stay looking their best for as long as possible. Nobody wants scruffy extensions with split ends! So how can you take better care of your luxurious Brazilian hair extensions? Take a look.

Store them in a cool, dry place.

You've probably read a lot of product labels that say "store in a cool, dry place." Well, Brazilian extensions are not any different. You do not want to store them in a humid area like in front of a window, or in a really warm place, like a shelf over a heat vent. Because there are a lot of temperature and humidity fluctuations in bathrooms, you're generally better off storing your extensions in the bedroom rather than the bathroom. You can and should also buy a velvet-lined case to keep them in. The velvet will keep the hairs straight and prevent them from tangling.

Wash them with a sulfate-free shampoo.

You should only have to wash your extensions once a month if you wear them daily, and every 30 uses if you use them less often. When you do wash your extensions, make sure you use a sulfate-free shampoo. Sulfates are very drying, and since extensions don't continually make new oils like the hair on your head, the extensions will get dry and brittle if you use a shampoo that is too harsh.

Air dry your extensions.

Make sure you wash your extensions at a time when you don't need to wear them again too soon. You want to let them air dry since blow drying can over-dry the hair and lead to split ends. Let the extensions dry out most of the way before you brush them out, and make sure they are fully dry before you put them away.

Brush them gently before putting them on.

It is better to brush your extensions before you put them in, rather than after. Make sure you use either a hairbrush with soft bristles or a wide-tooth comb. If there are any tangles, start slowly working them out from the bottom, up. You can apply a little bit of leave-in conditioner if needed but do not over-do it.

With the tips above, you can take better care of your hair extensions. They should last you for years as long as you provide them with the right storage and maintenance conditions. Contact us to get our 10A grade Brazilian hair extensions today.
